Use of Our Website 

Visiting our website is generally possible without providing personal data. Personal data is only collected to the extent technically necessary for using the website. If cookies are used, they are session cookies only. These do not serve personal identification; they merely store a session ID that allows different requests from your browser to be assigned to a single session. Once you close your browser, these session cookies are automatically deleted. 

Each time you access our website; the following data is automatically recorded:

In addition, you can contact us via the contact form, the WOLQE Forum or a direct inquiry form related to a specific item. A request made through these channels can only be successfully submitted if you provide your first and last name as well as a valid e-mail address to which we can respond. For inquiries via the WOLQE Forum, providing your e-mail address is sufficient. 

All submitted data is used solely to process your request and is, of course, treated confidentially. 

Use of reCAPTCHA 

To protect our input forms, we use the “reCAPTCHA” service by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter “Google”). This service checks whether input is made by a human or if it is misused by automated, machine-based processes. 

As far as we know, various pieces of information are transmitted to Google, including the referrer URL, your IP address, user behavior on our website, information about the operating system, browser, duration of visit, stored cookies, display settings, scripts, input actions, and mouse movements in the area of the reCAPTCHA checkbox. 

Google uses the collected data, among other things, for digitizing books and other print media, as well as to improve services such as Google Maps and Google Street View—for instance, to recognize house numbers or street names. 

According to Google, the IP address collected within the scope of reCAPTCHA is not merged with other Google data unless you are logged into your Google Account when using the reCAPTCHA tool. To prevent this transmission and storage of personal data by Google, it is advisable to log out of your Google Account before visiting our website or before using reCAPTCHA.

Google Analytics 

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). It uses “cookies,” which are text files stored on your device to help analyze how you use the website. The information generated by these cookies about your use of the website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. 

If IP anonymization is enabled on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and then anonymized there. 

Acting on behalf of the website operator, Google uses this information to evaluate your usage of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services related to website usage and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. 

Our website uses Google Analytics in conjunction with the “anonymizeIp” feature. This means IP addresses are processed only in truncated form, which rules out a direct link to your personal data. We use Google Analytics in compliance with the guidelines agreed upon between the German data protection authorities and Google. 

Google Tag Manager 

This website uses Google Tag Manager. This service allows website tags to be managed via an interface. Google Tag Manager itself only implements tags; it does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Google Tag Manager can trigger other tags that may collect data. However, Google Tag Manager does not access this data. 
If you have disabled tracking services at the domain or cookie level, this setting remains in effect for all tags implemented via Google Tag Manager. 

Google AdWords Conversion Tracking 

As part of Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords), a service of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA), we use Conversion Tracking. If you reach our website via an ad placed by Google, a cookie for Conversion Tracking is set on your device. 

This cookie does not serve personal identification. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie is still valid, both Google and we can recognize that you clicked on an ad and were redirected to our website. 

Each Google Ads customer receives a unique conversion cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked across multiple Ads customers’ websites. 

The information collected by this cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Ads customers who use Conversion Tracking. These statistics show how many users in total clicked on an ad and visited a page tagged with a conversion tag. No personally identifiable information is transmitted during this process.

Microsoft Clarity 

We use the service of “Microsoft Clarity”. Microsoft Clarity is an analytics tool by Microsoft that evaluates user behavior based on a pseudonymous user ID and other pseudonymized data—such as mouse movements and performance data related to specific webpage content. 

In this analysis, we primarily process usage data (e.g., visited pages, interest in certain content, access times), meta and communication data (like device information or IP addresses), location data (information about the geographic position of a device or user), and motion data (e.g., mouse and scroll movements)—all in a pseudonymized form. The data collection configuration is set so that Microsoft applies pseudonymization, particularly via IP masking (pseudonymizing the IP address). 

This data processing applies to all visitors to our website who have given consent to the use of Microsoft Clarity through our cookie consent banner. The data processing is therefore based solely on your consent (Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR). 

The purpose of processing is tracking (e.g., interest-/behavior-based profiling, use of cookies), remarketing, conversion measurement (measuring the effectiveness of marketing measures), interest-based and behavior-based marketing, profiling (creating user profiles), reach measurement (e.g., access statistics, detection of returning users) and cross-device tracking (processing of user data across devices for marketing purposes).

Use of Social Plugins from Facebook, LinkedIn & Google
